Box and Muffle Furnaces

A versatile laboratory Furnace

A laboratory muffle/box furnace is a versatile piece of equipment used in various scientific and industrial applications. It is primarily designed for high-temperature heating, annealing, sintering, and calcination processes. This furnace provides controlled heating environments within a sealed chamber, allowing precise temperature control and uniform heat distribution.

The heating element in a muffle/box furnace is commonly made of resistance wire, such as nichrome or kanthal, which is wound around the chamber walls. These heating elements are capable of reaching temperatures up to 1800°C (3272°F) or even higher in some advanced models. The temperature is controlled using a digital controller that regulates the power supplied to the heating elements.

The muffle/box furnace also includes safety features like over-temperature protection and emergency shut-off systems to prevent accidents or damage due to excessive temperatures. Some models may have built-in exhaust systems to remove fumes or volatile gases generated during the heating process.

YARAN designs and manufactures these types of furnaces from 3 liters to 30 liters and from the maximum temperature of 1250 to 1800 â—¦C as standard, and in special applications, different volumes and higher temperatures up to 2200 â—¦C can be ordered. Temperature control in these furnaces is done by PID with at least 10 programming steps. Cooling in these systems is done through air circulation. Also, these systems have the ability to control the speed of heating and cooling from very slow to very fast rates.
